Andrea Polli - Particle Falls
March 2016
Northwest hosted Visual Artist, Andrea Polli! She was here on March 18th.
Particle Falls is a realtime exhibit that uses technology to detect particulate matter in the air and transmits an image that conveys particulate matter readings. The image changes based on the current readings.
Andrea Polli has the Particle Falls outdoor exhibit at UNCC Center City West Wall - 9th and Brevard. This is in collaboration with the Clean Air Carolina and UNCC opend the Keeping Watch on Air exhibit on March 18th.


J Stacy Utley

We recently had a visit from artist J Stacy Utley. Stacy spoke to our 8th graders about collage art techniques. He shared his process and inspiration with the class.
Stacy's artistic disciplines include mixed media, painting and photography. "His current series “Any City, AMERICA” is a compelling look into gentrification through the placement of portable objects within an urban setting."

She was a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for our students and all of the guests!



Matt Myers - Painter, Illustrator
November 2015
Matt Myers visited Northwest in the fall of 2015. He is a local Charlotte artist, and we were excited to have him share his craft with us! Matt is a painter and an illustrator of children's books. Some of his artwork can be found in the books Clink, Tyrannosaurus Dad, Battle Bunny and many more!
